Abel Tesfaye, popularly known by his stage name, The Weeknd enjoys a huge fan base around the world for the rich beats and lyrics of his songs. He had delivered several hits in the past, including iconic songs such as Starboy, Snowchild and Blinding Lights. Did you know the artist had approached Justin Bieber directly in the past when he was dating pop sensation Selena Gomez?

For the untrained, Abel and Selena were in a relationship for nearly ten months after it was made official in October 2017. The two were pretty vocal about their love for each other, especially on social media platforms. They shared numerous enchanting pictures and videos and built a loyal fan base as a couple within a short time. Selena’s longest relationship at the time was with singer Justin Bieber, and it’s rumored that her two exs disliked each other at one point.

In 2017, The Weeknd partnered with Canadian artist Nav and delivered a fiery song called Some Way. A few lines in the song seemed to be a direct message to Selena’s ex Justin Bieber, since Selena and Weeknd were still together at the time.

Part of the song can be heard singing The Weeknd, “I think your girl, think your girl, fell in love with me.”

He also added an explicit note to that and went on singing, “She says my fuck and tongue play are a cure.”

“I just picked up the girl and I know you kind of feel. She just wants a *** like me, you feel somehow. “Another verse is mentioned.

The fans were almost convinced at the time that these lines were addressed to Justin Bieber. The song also opened a Twitter debate that saw the Fandoms of The Weeknd and Justin Bieber pound each other on.
