Disney films are special and have an element of surprise in that they take the audience into the world of magic and laughter. With a legacy of more than 90 years, Walt Disney Animation Studios have created phenomenal films that have received great love and appreciation from people of all ages from around the world. To celebrate this love and joy, Disney presents its 60th animated musical – Encanto.

The film, which hits nearest theaters on November 26th, is about a family who have special magical powers to make this world a better place. While we wait for Encanto to be released, here’s a look back at some of the iconic films made by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

The Lion King (2019)

If you want to see a movie full of love, adventure and motivation, the Lion King is your destination. This 2019 film, directed by Jon Favreau, was a mega hit worldwide. The story is about a place where dragons and humans live together in harmony, until one day after 500 years a dark monster returns and threatens this land. Tangled Up (2010)

Walt Disney Animation Studios is known for thinking outside the box. We all know the story of Rapunzel, but could we ever have imagined her kidnapping the town’s most coveted bachelor aka Flynn Rider? Directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, the film is a feast for the eyes with a gripping plot and amazing music.


This film has to be on that list. The famous and iconic – Disney’s Tarzan is what people between 20 and early 30 saw and grew up with. This great adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrough’s tale of the ape man begins deep in the jungle when Tarzan, a baby who lost her parents to a leopard, is adopted by a gorilla family. The phenomenal animation, the great music and the wonderful voice-over have made this film a blockbuster worldwide, where people of all ages love this film and never get bored even after watching it several times. It was the film that raised the bar for Walt Disney Animation Studios and forever shaped people’s hearts and minds.


Frozen was inspired by Hans Christian Anddersen’s fairy tale “The Snow Queen”. Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, this film shows a princess who goes on a journey with an ice man, his reindeer and a snowman to find her sister, whose magical power is like a curse in eternal winter their kingdom worked. With a story and soundtrack that hit the right note, the film took absolutely no time to break any box office records worldwide. It won several prestigious awards because it was great and the love that was showered by the fans and viewers.

Walt Disney Animation Studio is ready for another theatrical release of Encanto. Directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, the beautiful songs included are by Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda.
