Biased corporate media purposely trumped up bad news for Biden

When good business news comes out, corporate media ignores it, but pounces on every bit of bad data it can find.

Eric Boehlert tweeted the difference between media coverage of job numbers and their inflation hysteria:

Would you like to know how the press reports on the Biden economy?

Last Friday, 531,000 new jobs were announced. NBC Nightly News and ABC World News Tonight both ignored the story.

Inflation rose 6% this week, Nightly News and World News released it as their second story of the evening

In addition, according to the press, the week was the biggest surge in inflation since 1990.

OMG this is awful! The US economy slowed down in 1990!

Guess what mortgage rates were in 1990? 10%

today? 2.5%

The corporate media responded to any bad news by justifying their biased reporting by going out and finding some Trump supporters pretending to be impartially concerned Americans who will help them spread more negativity.

It is an echo chamber that amplifies itself to convey a message of anger and division.

Democrats cannot rely on the corporate media to get their message across

Unlike the Republicans, the Democratic Party refuses to endorse and invest in the media read by its constituents. Republicans make sure their media are supported and can get the message across for them. Democrats complain about not having their own media but ignore the place where the people who are likely to support them read.

Democrats never learn. The corporate media has been bullied by Republicans for decades, so they are afraid of not being sympathetic to the right. There are a few exceptions like CNN’s MSNBC and Jim Acosta, but media that were once considered the bastions of neutral journalism are more interested in profit than facts, so they play up division and negativity.

The media’s refusal to provide positive news or why inflation is high. Inflation is a problem that is more than the supply chain. It’s a complicated problem that stems from Trump’s trade war, COVID, and pent-up consumer demand, among several other factors.

The corporate media uses its power to keep independent media outlets small while providing biased coverage that helps Republicans.

Unless the Democrats resist this dynamic, their message will not get out and President Biden will not get balanced coverage in the mainstream press.
