Attention, Taylor Swift Fans: It’s time to dance around the kitchen in the fridge light.
At midnight, the superstar singer officially released her latest re-recorded album Red (Taylor’s version). The album, which was first released in 2012, now contains 30 songs, including a 10-minute version of their beloved track “All Too Well”.
After the song, reflecting a heartbreaking romance (and a lost scarf!), First released nine years ago, it quickly became a fan favorite due to its moving lyrics. Then, over the years, Swift let slip that she still had the original, more explicit version of the song. “It had the F-word in it,” Swift said on the Rolling Stone podcast 500 Greatest Albums in 2020, “and basically I remember my sound engineer saying, ‘Hey, I burned a CD with the thing you did if you want to. ‘ And I thought, ‘Sure.’ “
“I ended up taking it home and listening to it,” Swift, who is said to have written the song about their relationship too Jake Gyllenhaal, Further. “And I was like, ‘I actually really like this, but it’s definitely 10 minutes and I have to cut it down.'” Then she enlisted the songwriter’s help Liz Rose to cut the song down to just over five minutes for Red’s 2012 release.
