When your platform is based – literally – on the whims of a man with no principle whatsoever, “messaging” can be a problem. There aren’t many things that MAGAs can point out and say, “It was better under Trump!”

So it seems MAGA Republicans are avoiding this problem entirely by mixing things up under Trump with what happened under Biden. The ads are not trustworthy, four Pinocchios,

According to CNN:

The National Republican Congressional Committee’s 30-second ad, titled “Chaos,” begins with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “predicting brave progress for the people when we have President Joe Biden in the White House.” It then contrasts Pelosi’s words with a fast-paced series of photos and videos depicting scenes of violence and turmoil in the US and abroad.

However, parts of this quick assembly are highly misleading.

Many of us would have been completely stunned if the first major ad of 2022 had been rated as completely trustworthy and truthful. Stunned.

: At least three of the pictures in the Republican ad were actually taken in 2020, during the Trump administration, not the Biden administration in 2021.

Is there a hint of racism that comes with the lies? Yes it does, which suggests that the MAGAs intend to work with what worked whenever it worked:

At the 17-second mark, the display shows flames that rise around a raised sign that reads “BLACK LIVES MATTER”. As Washington Post reporter Dave Weigel pointed out on Monday, this picture was taken in Kenosha, Wisconsin, August 2020, during the riot following the police shooting of Jacob Blake. (The mark belonged to a Unitarian universalist church.)

Did the Republicans feel embarrassed? Did you fire a few interns and apologize? Pfft:

Berg did not apologize for the use of images in the 2020 ad. On Twitter messages to CNN, he defended the ad by claiming that the Democrats “actively supported and encouraged the 2020 riots” and that Biden in particular “Actively supported the protests”.

But this, too, is the inevitable result of a party that stands for nothing but itself and its belief in governing the nation. The only policies the GOP supports are tax cuts and regulatory cuts, things that cost the rich money and take away from the poor or the commons.

They cannot refer to programs that they want to implement. They have no. They don’t have great successes (they pretend COVID is some kind of accident and nothing could have mitigated it). Even the stock market, which Trump has always pointed out, is high under Biden. Anything Trump could point out, inflation, supply issues, everything can be traced back to shipping issues stemming from COVID concerns raising prices. Republicans leave out that Americans with kids have at least $ 250 extra a month to cope with prices … thanks to the Democrats.

In the meantime, the United States is building better and is spending a lot of money on it

Democrats are not over low ball tactics. They happen. But Democrats don’t usually lie outright because, for the past five years at least, there is literally nothing to be gained from lying. The facts have supported the Democrats for some time.

Maybe Republicans are only now realizing that they have to come up with some kind of message for 2022.
