Super Rare Games announced Machine of heaven as the first in its Super Rare Shorts series of physical Switch games.

The game is “a chaotic, fast-paced roguelite set on a cosmic train racing towards heaven” developed by Glass Revolver, the studio behind ITTA and House of worship. In the game you slip into the role of Jack and explore a randomly generated train while you snatch items, destroy enemies and fight monsters.

Pre-orders for the game are available now through December 22nd – keep in mind that this is a purely physical release (i.e. with no restrictions or numbered copies.

Here’s more about Super Rare Shorts:

“After a year of hard work, we’re thrilled to finally get Heaven’s Machine into the hands of our fans. As the first release of our brand new label Super Rare Shorts, this is a big new step for Super Rare Games in our quest to be Indie’s best friend.

Super Rare Shorts are completely original titles, the development of which we fully funded, and which are only released physically on the Nintendo Switch – never digitally on consoles.

Our goal with Shorts is to nurture indie developers and help bring ideas to life that would normally be considered too fragmented by publishers. With massive visibility issues for indie digital games and even small publishers signing increasingly large indie titles, we hope to bring great games from aspiring and seasoned indie developers who otherwise would never have seen the light of day.

For the sake of conservation, Super Rare’s Shorts series games will eventually land on; Super Rare Games says, “The contents of the shorts will be complete and there will never be any updates to the game. Your physical version will never be inferior.”
