GTFO is leaving Early Access “later this year” and will be increasing its price soon

The co-op survival horror title GTFO has been in Early Access for almost two years, but now developer 10 Chambers has confirmed that the game will finally leave Early Access. GTFO version 1.0 will be out “later this year” – but get it soon if you haven’t already, as it will get a price increase on November 1st.

10 Chambers promised back in March 2020 – just four months after the Left 4 Dead-inspired game was released – that GTFO would exit Early Access in 2021. It is close to breaking that promise, but fortunately the team is now confirming that version 1.0 will indeed be released in the next few months – although there is no exact release date yet.

However, that doesn’t mean 10 Chambers are done with GTFO. The team has conducted around 50 expeditions within GTFO’s five rundowns to date, and narrator Simon Viklund confirms that “Rundown updates with GTFO version 1.0 will continue” to hopefully allay fan concerns.

The GTFO version 1.0 update will include many graphical updates – such as better glass rendering and even a new third-person animation system – as well as a communication wheel and improved matchmaking.

Unfortunately, this also means that GTFO will receive a price hike that will take place on November 1st – “several weeks” before the 1.0 release, which suggests that the update will not appear before the end of November at the earliest. The new price is $ 39.99 / £ 34.99, an increase of $ 5 / £ 5 from the current Early Access price. 10 Chambers suggests there will be a sale next week before the hike. So if you want one of the best co-op games, be sure to pick it up before Halloween.
