Blake made a name for himself with excellent performances at the London 2012 Olympics. Although he was often overshadowed by Usain Bolt, he and his compatriot from Jamaica won an Olympic gold medal in the 4 x 100 m relay. That year he also won silver medals in the 100 m and 200 m.

In 2016, the 31-year-old won his second Olympic gold medal in the 4×100 meter relay alongside Bolt. Despite participating in the Tokyo Olympics, he failed to reach the 100m final and finished fifth in the 4x100m relay with Jamaica.

Meanwhile, Kerley finished second in the men’s 100 meter final and picked up his first Olympic medal. With a time of 9.84 s he became the 15th fastest man of all time in this category.

Blake recently gave an interview for Athletics Weekly in which he believed Kerley could produce much faster times in the future. He said: “He has talent over the 100m, 200m and 400m. I’m really happy for him and I think he can go a lot faster. I don’t think he has to change his technique. “
