E !: Do you have any skin care insights or application tips that we should incorporate into our routines?
CR: My mom told me to apply skin care products in order from thinnest to thickest. I think that is how it is best absorbed by the skin.
It’s also a good idea to take your time between applications so that they absorb more effectively.
I use my ring finger to apply skin care products because it has the least amount of pressure.
If I ever have an extra product from a moisturizer or something, I never wipe it off or throw it away. Instead, I put it around my neck or the back of my hand. I don’t like to waste products.
Always apply sunscreen every day, even when you are not going outside. You can catch sun rays through the window. Make sure you put sunscreen on your ears. Many people neglect the ears. My mother reminded me to put sunscreen on my ears. Don’t neglect your sunscreen.
Beauty really starts from within. Getting enough sleep, hydration, and eating a healthy diet are key. If I don’t get enough sleep, my skin suffers a lot. When I drink a lot of water, I feel great and my skin feels so good. My sister Michelle [Randolph], her boyfriend Gregg [Sulkin], and I have all of those motivational water bottles.
E !: When I saw your mother in her bachelor’s degree, I was right to think you had another sister because she looks so young. What did she teach you about skin care?
CR: She literally taught me everything I knew about skin care since I was younger. She has degrees in Dietetics and Nutrition, so she has always been very focused on health and wellness. Skin care is just a natural extension of those interests. Even when I was a little kid, I remember that it was all about sunscreen. She just teaches me all these little tricks, like knowing which fingers to use to apply your skin care products so that there is less pressure on the skin, the ring finger by the way. She also does a lot of research. She is very passionate and gave this passion to me and my sister Michelle.
E !: Do you have budget-friendly beauty or hosiery gift ideas?
CR: Definitely a lip product. A jade roller is also a good gift. I would say a steamer because I love my steamer. I always use it when my skin feels dull. Hair clips, I feel like you can never have too many hair clips.
