Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) is expected to face charges for lying to the FBI about accepting illegal foreign campaign donations.
Video of Fortenberry sitting in a pickup truck with his wife and dog, telling supporters that he is awaiting charges:
Fortenberry alleged in the video that he was only trying to help the FBI and failed to notice that he was being investigated, which seems a little hard to believe.
Rep. Eric Swalwell helped the FBI when he reported that he had been attacked by the Chinese, and he didn’t get into trouble for not lying.
The problem Rep. Fortenberry glossed over his video is that he CREATED THE FBI.
Axios reported that the Nebraska Congressman was one of many House Republicans to receive illegal donations in 2016.
Republicans can no longer get away with lying to law enforcement agencies.
With Trump in office, Republicans felt protected and lied to federal law enforcement, congressional committees, and anyone else who tried to investigate them. Trump’s obsessive lying has been fused with the identity of the Republican Party.
Under President Biden, the DOJ is again working for the people instead of the president. Republicans will be held accountable for their crimes.
Fortenberry is fully MAGA accusing the Democrats of political assault in order to take him down, but he created the indictment himself by choosing to lie to the FBI.
Another Republican thought he was above the law and about to pay the price.
