In a collaboration between “the most successful independent rapper in hip-hop and the greatest A-list actor in Hollywood”, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock has successfully made his rap debut. He did this with the single ‘Face Off’ produced by Aaron Dontez Yates, aka Tech N9ne.

The single is part of Tech N9ne’s new album ‘ASIN9NE’, which was produced by his studio label Strange Music. It also includes Joey Cool and King Iso.

The wrestler, actor and tequila maker announced on Instagram what Variety.com describes as a “historic career move”: “I am grateful and humble to make my rap debut with these hip-hop kings because I was only trying to to deliver a rhythm, flow, energy and intensity that don’t suck. “Before that, Dwayne Johnson cheered in another post:” And I love all your HYPE and your EXCITEMENT about the song! “

Tech N9ne and Dwayne Johnson met a few years ago. “A huge fan of independent rapper Johnson, who is the world’s most followed American, has shared Tech N9ne’s music on his social media for years,” reported Variety.com.

Dwayne Johnson’s previous connection to music was when he appeared on the 2000s song “It Doesn’t Matter” by his friend Haitian rapper Wyclef Jeans. The title of the song was borrowed from Johnson’s favorite catchphrase, which he shouted but didn’t rap on the track.
