“The versions shown on social media are 100 percent untrue,” Ricci told NBC News on Friday. “We are confident that, after a full and fair investigation, it will be determined that Ms. Herman has not committed any wrongdoing.”
Herman’s ex-husband Leonard Herman also vouched for the character of the teacher and found that she knew Mohammed.
“My wife is a friend of hers, they work out together at the gym,” he said. “I don’t know why she’s doing this.
I know she would never do that. ‘
Muhammad did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request to comment on her relationship with the child or Herman.

In a statement, the South Orange Maplewood School District said it had been made aware of the allegations and began investigations on Thursday.
“We will use the district’s established due process procedures to ensure fair and equitable outcomes based on the results of our investigation. Any decision or result in this regard will be reserved after the investigation is completed, ”the statement said.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations of New Jersey said it was troubled by the allegation and Executive Director Selaedin Maksut described him as “totally unacceptable” when he joined others in calling for the Herman’s resignation.
“Racist teachers like this one cannot trust our children,” tweeted Maksut on Friday.
In a statement, CAIRNJ said: “Forcibly removing the religious headscarf from a Muslim girl is not only extraordinarily disrespectful behavior, but also a degrading and traumatic experience.
“Muslim students are already grappling with bullying by their peers. It is unthinkable that a teacher would add to their distress.”
