Harriet Hageman, the Wyoming attorney running against Liz Cheney in an upcoming primary, loudly supported the anti-Trump Republican during her 2016 Congressional campaign and firmly opposed President Trump.
Hageman also tried to prevent Trump from reaching the Republican nomination in 2016, calling him “racist and xenophobic”.
A video by CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski shows how Hageman describes Cheney as a “proven, brave, constitutional conservative.”
Hageman accused certain forces of trying to shut down “true conservatives” like Cheney.
But, she said, Liz Cheney was too strong to succumb to these forces.
“There has been and will continue to be a concerted effort to force real conservatives to sit down and shut up,” she said. “Those efforts never worked for me, and I know they don’t work and have no effect on Liz Cheney.”

From then on, things get worse in terms of Harriet Hageman’s support.
She was part of the Never Trump Forces in 2016.
The New York Times reports that she was “part of the final Republican opposition to his rise in 2016” and performed a procedural ploy at the Republican National Convention to replace Trump with Senator Ted Cruz.
She even tried left-wing rhetoric, describing the former president as “someone who is racist and xenophobic”.
In a statement to CNN, Hageman stated that her actions at the time did not necessarily reflect her current views, which led Trump to approve the overthrow of Liz Cheney.
“It’s true that in 2016, like most delegates in Wyoming, I was a Cruz delegate,” she said. “Like me, there were a lot of people who initially supported other candidates and then gathered behind President Trump when he won the nomination.”

Trump supports Hageman
In his confirmation earlier this month, Trump said he was backing Hageman to replace “warmonger and disloyal Republican Liz Cheney.”
“In contrast to RINO Liz Cheney, Harriet is fully involved in America First,” he claimed. “Harriet has my full and unreserved approval to replace Liz Cheney, the leader in soundbites for the Democrats.”
Cheney responded to the confirmation by adding her own sound bite – “Bring it”.

Hageman told CNN that she fully supports President Trump today.
“I’m proud of his accomplishments, and for Wyoming, their America First policies were the best we’ve ever seen,” said Hageman. “He was the greatest president of my life and I am proud to be able to reappoint him in 2020.”
Liz Cheney is backed by numerous anti-Trump Republicans, including President George W. Bush and former House Speakers John Boehner and Paul Ryan, and has a sizeable war chest.
Hageman has no notoriety and any hint that she might be another state-loving RINO in the shape of Cheney would surely ruin her chances in the primary by undermining the motivation of voters eager to rid Wyoming of Liz’s antics .
