  • Profits> Ethics: Apple and Google have removed a “tactical voting app created by the organization of the imprisoned Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny” from their marketplaces, we reported. TechCrunch notes that “the Russian state” [is] to increase the pressure on foreign technology giants before the federal elections. ”So much for standing up for democracy or whatever.
  • Are software ratings stabilizing? Software sales may have plateaued after a simply incredible run. A very high plateau, but still a resting point. This isn’t bad news for SaaS companies, which are still valued at historically high levels.
  • Apple “actively controls” legal challenges to the Texas abortion law: While some tech companies are publicizing their displeasure with the new Texas reproductive care law, Apple is taking a slower and more inconspicuous course on the matter. But it’s still good to see an American tech company almost taking a stand on a moral issue. It is better than what is actually less. A little bit.
