""Mattress Reviews"" – Google News
With foam mattresses that pop out of a box after delivery to your front door, Casper and Tuft & Needle have conquered the mattress scene. The upstart boast that their mattresses are made in America, but so are those from such big old brands as Tempur Sealy (including Stearns & Foster), Serta and Beautyrest. It turns out that if you stop by at night, you are likely sleeping on a mattress that was made or largely made here. Consumer Reports has tested dozens and can recommend a lot.
Tuft and Needle says, “Our fabric comes from a 90 year old family-owned textile mill in the Carolinas,” and Casper says, “Our knits are from South Carolina, our woven fabrics from Belgium, and they are hand-sewn together in Illinois and South Carolina. “We found that it was common among mattress manufacturers to source some textiles from elsewhere, even if the mattresses were assembled differently in that country. Here are a few that impressed in our tests.
The Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid Trust Cushion with innerspring, $ 1,275, a CR Best Buy, and Serta iComfort Savant EverFeel, $ 1,575, another top foam pick, proved to be comfortable choices in our tests. The Charles P. Rogers St. Regis Pillowtop, $ 1,100, another CR Best Buy, is also made in the United States.
