Dead by Daylight hits 100,000 concurrent players five years after launch

Dead by Daylight has been one of Steam’s most popular games for years, and it seems the success is only getting bigger. Now, five years after its original introduction, the mix of horror games and multiplayer games has reached the highest number of players ever. The double blow of a Steam sale and a generous anniversary event drove Dead by Daylight over the 100,000 player threshold for the first time.

Dead by Daylight peaked at 105,093 concurrent players on June 30, shortly after the five-year anniversary event went live, according to SteamDB. The game has been discounted by 40% since the Steam Summer Sale began, bringing the price down to $ 11.99 / £ 8.99 / € 11.99.

The anniversary event adds a handful of fun in-game gimmicks, but the real allure is likely the in-game currency’s big giveaway. You will earn 500,000 Blood Points the first time you log in during the event, and a total of 9,000 dazzling shards through a range of login rewards during the first seven days of the celebration – enough to purchase a character.

You can find out all the details about the event in the Steam announcement or get a sneak peek in the trailer below.

Dead by Daylight’s Resident Evil crossover also went live recently if you’re looking for more reasons to dive in.
