Japanese video game developer and publisher Arika has announced that it will be released Fighting EX Layer: Another shot on the Nintendo Switch in 2021.
The original version of this title was first released on PlayStation 4 in 2018 and has since been ported to several other devices. It is viewed as a spiritual continuation of Combat shift (1998) and the Street fighter EX Series (1996).
Arika says Another Dash will be “different” than the existing Fighting EX Layer. The characters have been adjusted, the movements revised and new combat systems introduced. This also includes different netcodes.
Here is an explanation courtesy of Gematsu:
“Fighting EX Layer: Another Dash uses a backstep interrupt netcode based on the delay netcode. Since the input delay for several frames is disguised as variable frames, the position of the character can be corrected for extreme delays. Hopefully sometime after the publication Arika to replace the netcode with the netcode “The best of both games”, which is currently being tested and is based on the rollback netcode. “
More information about Fighting EX Layer: Another Dash for Nintendo Switch will be released on April 1st.
