Dave Bautista, best known for his portrayal of Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy, was a household name through his time at WWE. Before he got famous and was part of the biggest movie franchise in the world (Avengers), Dave had way too many fights to tackle than anyone could imagine.
In a way, Drax is the role that allowed him to stay in business, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to see the “actor” side of this big guy. He was so poor that he had to borrow money from people to buy presents for his children for Christmas.
In an interview with IGN, Dave Bautista said, “In order for people to really understand how much my life has changed, they’d have to understand where I came from, what I went through when I was wrestling, what I left behind for one Chance to get into acting, ”Bautista told the website.
Dave Bautista added, “And when I got the role of Drax in Guardians, I hardly worked for three years. So I was really out of wrestling and could have stepped back with my dick between my legs, but I still did [would] I’m just stuck in a place where I would never have gone further, but I just dared. And then when I got [cast]not just because I was broke [everything changed]. If I say broke, my house got foreclosed, I had nothing, man. I’ve sold all of my things. I’ve sold everything I’ve made [when] I fought. I had problems with the IRS. I was just lost in everything. “
About ‘Drax’ as a lifesaving figure, Dave Bautista concluded with the words: “So Drax has not only changed my career. It literally changed the trajectory of my life. My life just got better and I just got more successful. And that’s when things really started to seem surreal. It hasn’t been many years [earlier] When I only borrowed money to pay for food, to pay rent. Borrow money to buy Christmas presents for my children. It didn’t take long and all that stuff [had happened]. So it happened to me quickly, which made it seem even more surreal. But it did; it changed my life. It gave me a life. “
Dave Bautista is truly an inspiration to anyone who finds a glimmer of hope in the chaos of life.
