Fallout: London’s release trailer came out yesterday and looks ridiculous. A “DLC-sized mod” for Bethesdas Fallout 4, Fallout: London takes the series into the world of post-apocalyptic London with such style that one wonders why there has never been anything like it.
Everything you would expect from a Fallout game in London is here: Big Ben, the Queen’s Guards (the Beefeaters) with armor and swords, and of course the iconic red double-decker buses. The whole thing is rounded off with a tastefully stereotypical Cockney voiceover.

The trailer begins with Vera Lynn’s “We’ll Meet Again,” a song that was practically written for Fallout, even if they didn’t know it then …

However, this mod isn’t just an aesthetic makeover of Fallout 4. Fallout: London is a complete makeover. There’s so much content here that it’s basically like a completely new game.
SEVEN new factions are added with the full mod, including the strangely relevant 5th Column (a group of populists who love the Union Jack) and the hilarious Camelot Knights, for what would apocalyptic London be without some people posing as Arthurian Dress up heroes? ?
The trailer is also reminiscent of WWI and WWII (you can even see Barrage Balloons flying over the London skyline) which make this entire experience unique.
Fallout: London features an entirely new cast of characters and NPCs, and is completely different from the original Fallout 4 storyline. None of the original factions appear in the mod, which makes sense considering the world has fallen to pieces. I guess not a lot of transatlantic flights.
London is rich in architecture and storytelling. The footage of the destroyed colonial buildings and the bent metal of crashed planes look incredible – they look so good, in fact, that it strikes me as bizarre that no one has bothered to think about fallout in the UK.
Fallout: London does not have a scheduled release date yet. The team consists of volunteers. Various updates have been posted here and there for a while now, but this is the first proper look at the mod in action.
Does that mean it’s nearing completion? In all honesty, probably not. A mod of this magnitude doesn’t happen overnight. Expect a little wait for this one, but it looks like it will be worth the wait.
