Nintendo Life | Latest Updates
Apart from Metroid horror, one of the other standout announcements from Nintendo’s E3 Direct was the return of Advance Wars games from the GBA generation.
Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp is made by the Shantae Developer WayForward and got a facelift (as you’ve probably noticed by now) but other than that, we don’t know much more about this updated two-in-one version.
At the end of the Nintendo Treehouse Advance Wars segment, Nintendo of America representatives confirmed that the reboot would include “online gameplay” – more details will follow shortly.
It was also briefly mentioned how there would be support for “up to four players”. Nintendo’s official game site also mentions that four players can compete against each other on dozens of cards and that online games require a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Obviously, playing online wasn’t part of the original GBA titles so it’s great to see this modern version with these newer features.
