Diana Ross shared details on her first album in 15 years, entitled “Thank You”.
“Thank You” is the sequel to Ross’ 2006 album “I Love You” and was recorded entirely in her home studio during the pandemic, reports bbc.com. The release is scheduled for September, this will be Ross’ 25th solo studio album and 43 total.
“This collection of songs is my gift to you with appreciation and love,” said 77-year-old singer Diana Ross in a statement.
“I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to record this wonderful music at this time,” added Diana Ross.
The title track, which was released at midnight on Thursday, is a gospel pop number reminiscent of the star’s Motown years.
A press release states that Diana Ross’s album “offers a powerful, encompassing musical message of love and togetherness” and that “with its songs of happiness, appreciation and joy wholeheartedly acknowledges that we are all together” .
Ross co-wrote all 13 tracks and worked with a variety of contemporary names, including Jack Antonoff, who has become an important partner for artists such as Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, St Vincent and Lorde.
Soul singer Diana Ross began her career with Motown in the 1960s and was featured with The Supremes on chartbusters such as “Baby Love”, “Stop! In The Name Of Love ”and“ You Keep Me Hanging On ”.
