Watch: President Biden, First Lady meets Queen Elizabeth II.
Joe Biden is the 13th President to have a one-on-one interview with the Queen after the monarch invited him and his wife Jill to tea at Windsor Castle.
The Bidens’ visit follows the G7 summit in Cornwall, where the Queen first met them on Friday night during a drinks reception held by the Royal Family at the Eden Project.
He is the fourth US President recently to meet the Queen at Windsor Castle instead of Buckingham Palace, where heads of state are usually received by the monarch.
In 2018 Donald Trump was invited to Windsor, where he drank tea with the Queen.
This is how the two visits differ.
Trump has more time with the Queen
Both visits reportedly overflowed, with Trump’s scheduled half-hour session being extended by 20 minutes.
The Bidens were reportedly just 10 minutes ahead of schedule.

The total visit to the Bidens lasted about an hour, with the couple arriving just after 5 p.m. and leaving around 6:03 p.m.
On the way to his next stop, Brussels, Biden told reporters that the Queen had been “generous” and “gracious” and even noted that she reminded him of his mother.
Biden’s sole guard inspection
In 2018, Trump was invited to inspect the honor guard, as was Biden in 2021.
In 2018, however, the Queen inspected the Guard with Trump. In 2021, the Queen stayed on the podium when she met Dr. Biden spoke.

He was retired in 2018 when Trump was invited, so the Queen stepped into the role.
But in 2021, when Prince Philip’s recent death was not far from her, the Queen asked the Commanding Officer of the Honor Guard, Major James Taylor, and Major General Christopher Ghika to conduct the inspection with Biden.
The story goes on
Biden seems to avoid major slip-ups
In 2018, Trump was widely criticized for appearing to make a huge mistake standing in front of the Queen when they were about to inspect the honor guard.
But Biden seemed to avoid major mishaps in front of the Queen.
He arrived wearing sunglasses but took them off. The Queen herself wore sunglasses during an engagement last week when she received a rose in honor of her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Biden also appeared to offer the queen an elbow once to help her go down the steps, but she seemed to refuse.
The president later revealed details of their meeting, which the palace is unlikely to comment on as it is a private chat.
He also made up for the fact that he had arrived for her aperitif after her on Friday evening and was early for his meeting on Sunday afternoon.
However, royal experts told Yahoo UK the Queen is rarely concerned about any obvious slip-ups.
Joe Little, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, told Yahoo UK: “The traditional queen after almost 70 years on the throne has a very sharp eye and will immediately notice that something is not what it should be.
“However, she appreciates that things go wrong sometimes, but she would never admonish her guests and make them uncomfortable. That’s not her style. “
