Thunder friends for life.
On Thursday June 10th, Peacock announced that a Ted prequel series was going to streaming service NBCUniversal. Of course, the new series is based on the 2012 comedy that followed John Bennett’s Hijinks (Mark Wahlberg) and his best friend Ted (Seth MacFarlane), a teddy bear brought to life by a wish.
The teddy bear isn’t a cute children’s toy, however, as Ted is a swearing character after growing up with John. So you can understand the R-rating of the movie.
Though Seth, best known for creating the hit animated series Family Guy, has signed up as executive producer on the series Erica Huggins For Fuzzy Door, the streaming service found that it is “in negotiations to revive the voice of the iconic and adorable teddy bear with a lazy mouth”.
Also, with the new show being described as a prequel series, it’s unclear whether Mark will be involved.
We can’t say we’re surprised that Peacock decided to treat Ted on TV. As stated in their announcement, the film was “the top grossing original R-rated comedy of all time.”
