Necromunda: Hired Gun’s first patch fixes fixes aiming sights and audio mixing

A first patch has arrived for the Warhammer 40K FPS game Necromunda: Hired Gun. This patch comes only about a week after the game launches and brings some much-needed improvements, although some of the bigger issues will still take some time for developers to resolve.

An important issue that has been fixed in this first patch is an incorrect offset that happens randomly with aiming, which causes the sight to be a little off. Hired Gun is a first-person shooter, of course, so getting the sight properly aligned is pretty important (although auto-aiming is remarkably forgiving, especially when you’re walking up against a wall). If you’re playing Hired Gun with a controller, the aiming aid when switching to iron sights has been redesigned, which should also be a welcome solution.

Several audio issues have also been fixed, including some weird voiceover mixes and an issue with missing sound effects in levels. That means you can hear every syllable of Space Cockney as you pop mercenary skulls in the Underhive. Enjoyable!

“This is just a first step and we are continuing to work on various topics, including the stuttering that some of you encounter,” says developer Streum On Studio in the Steam update, where you can also read the full patch notes.

While we weren’t overly impressed in our Necromunda: Hired Gun review and got a 6/10, there’s certainly fun with his punchy gunplay and fast, acrobatic traversal systems.
