Knockout City, Velan Studios’ multiplayer dodgeball action game, launched a few weeks ago on May 21st and has since attracted more than five million players.

Announcing the news on the sports game’s website, publisher EA announced: “Since launch we’ve seen five million new brawlers in matches, there has been amazing – and unexpected – gameplay, hundreds of thousands of crews formed, over half a billion KOs landed, millions of hours of play watched and – dare we say it? – Thousands of friendships were made along the way ”. It turned out that there are a lot of people out there who want to hit each other (thankfully, virtually) dodgeball in the face.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the game has amassed a significant number of thugs since launch, as it has received a warm welcome from critics, which is reflected in its average rating of 80 on the PC on Metacritic. It’s also available on many platforms – including previous and next generation consoles, Switch, as well as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, EA Play, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Origin on PC.

EA has also made a free trial available that lets you try the game up to level 25, and you can try it for yourself if you try it through the game’s website here.

If you’re new to Knockout City, it’s a multiplayer action game where teams compete against each other in dodgeball games. You can customize your character, assemble a crew with friends, and try out a “variety of fancy ball types, locations, and game modes,” with more being added each season to keep things fresh.
