Republicans are reaping the rewards of supporting a demigod like Trump

If Republicans had souls or a semblance of ethics, they would never have adopted a demigod like Trump, who repays them with a bipartisan civil war after losing the presidential election. And they are ready to allow a loser to decimate their party because not only are they lacking ethical standards, but they are first-rate cowards.

Republicans knew before Trump’s ill-attended inauguration that he was a dangerous “ally” and aspiring dictator. But after supporting the loser without hesitation for four years, he is now waging a war of retaliation against the party that the loser still controls.

Following Trump’s historic second impeachment, one for inciting an insurrection against the United States, the Republicans acquitted him out of sheer cowardice. As a result, the few Republicans who have had the strength to stand up for America and vote for the condemnation of the terrorist leader have faced the wrath of Trump’s acolytes and are now faced with the prospect of relentless attacks from the party’s de facto leader to which they have dedicated their lives.

One such Republican is Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski. Trump has vowed that he will get revenge on the devoted Republican by fighting her if and if she runs for re-election in 2022. Ms. Murkowski, however, has at least one ally in the Republican Party who said on Sunday that he will return her re-election efforts if she chooses to run.

Number 3 Republican in the Senate, John Barrasso (WY), opposed Trump on Sunday, saying he would support Murkovsky’s re-election despite the threat of the GOP’s biggest loser, Trump. Senator Barrasso said on Meet the Press:

“I always want to make sure that we nominate someone who can win in November. Lisa Murkowski knows Alaska better than anyone and she is an incredible fighter for American energy ”(read Big Oil).

Mr Barrasso’s pledge of support came in response to a statement by the Republican demigod on Saturday pledging not to support Senator Murkovsky “under any circumstances.” The still-rising dictator said in a statement on Saturday that:

“She represents her state badly and her country even worse. I don’t know where other people will be next year, but I know where I’ll be – in Alaska, where I’m fighting a disloyal and very bad senator. “

Trump had already vowed to retaliate against anyone he deemed disloyal, but what apparently revived his anger at Murkowski was that she voted to end Rep Deb Harland (DN.M.) nomination for the job to advance as Minister of the Interior.

Ms. Murkowski was the only Republican on the Senate’s Energy and National Resources Committee to vote to move Ms. Haaland’s nomination forward, and Trump cited this as the latest example of why Murkowski had to leave.

However, the key word in Trump’s remarks was “disloyal” and little else. Murkowski was a staunch Republican and supported everything Trump wanted over the past four disastrous years. However, it did not support his attempt to overthrow the United States government in order to stay in power after losing the 2020 general election to President Joseph Biden. Murkowski was part of a un-American cohort who approved of everything Trump did during his unjustified tenure in the White House, but triggering a bloody coup against the United States was a bridge too far.

It is noteworthy that Senator Barrasso also supported Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) after she became the target of Trump’s revenge. Ms. Cheney was also viewed as being unfaithful to the GOP demigod for voting for the domestic terrorist charge for instigating an insurrection against the United States government. Cheney, like Murkowski, is a dyed Republican, but she also recognized that a traitor to the United States has no right to serve in any position in government and deserves to be thrown out of office by impeachment.

It is unclear how long the Republican majority will support a domestic terrorist as GOP leader, and no decent American will shed a tear when the Republican Party’s civil war decimates the anti-everything party. But it seems that there will be no end to the chaos until Trump is dumped in federal prison for any number of crimes no regular American can commit with impunity.

It is hoped that the Republican Party will suffer from the revenge attacks by Trump and his terrorist supportive acolytes within the party as well as his anti-American base. What is incomprehensible, however, is the GOP’s allegiance to a loser who will burn the party down as if trying to burn America down to keep it from becoming dictator.

Republicans are filthy cowards for not being strong against Trump for committing the ultimate crime against the country the GOP claims to love, but their reluctance to protect two of their most dedicated party members embodies their betrayal of their oath, the Constitution to support and defend all enemies, foreign or domestic. At this point it is perfectly clear that Trump is an enemy of anyone who does not protect him; even if he attacks members of his own party after instigating an attack against the United States – the definition of a domestic terrorist.
